¡Familias de los Delfines! ¡Nos complace anunciar que el Día de Campo 2025 se celebrará el viernes 16 de mayo! Este es uno de nuestros eventos anuales favoritos, y esperamos disfrutar de un día lleno de diversión, trabajo en equipo y espíritu escolar. Familias, están cordialmente invitadas a asistir a este gran día. Sin embargo, si tenemos que trasladar el evento al interior debido al mal tiempo, no podremos acomodar a las familias. Cada estudiante tendrá la oportunidad de comprar una camiseta del Día de Campo para usar durante el evento. Dolphin Families! We’re excited to announce that Field Day 2025 is coming up on Friday, May 16th! This is one of our favorite annual events, and we’re looking forward to a day filled with fun, teamwork, and school spirit. Families, you are welcome to attend this great day. However, if we have to move the event indoors due to inclement weather, we will not be able to accommodate families. Each student will have the opportunity to purchase a Field Day T-shirt to wear during the event. These shirts will represent each student’s Field Day Team, so we encourage everyone to participate! Come and show your team spirit by representing your child’s team color! 🔹 T-Shirts are $11.00 per student 🔹 All money is due by Wednesday, May 8th

Good evening, Dolphin families! This is Principal Harley with a quick reminder. Our annual Sneaker Ball is happening this Saturday, May 3rd, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Edgecombe Community College. Thanks to your support, our fundraiser was a success! If your scholar did not participate in the fundraiser, there’s still time to reserve their spot by paying the $25 fee before Friday, May 2nd. Please note—no money will be collected at the door. We’re looking forward to a fun night and can’t wait to crown our next Mr. and Miss Coker-Wimberly. Good evening, families! This is Principal Harley with your weekly updates. Welcome back! We hope you had a relaxing and joyful Spring Break. As we return, we are excited to finish the year strong — we have just 27 school days left! Our 3rd–5th grade End-of-Grade (EOG) testing is right around the corner, beginning in about three weeks. It is crucial that students are present every day and avoid tardies and early sign-outs to make the most of these final weeks. This week, our 4th graders are headed to Asheboro to visit the North Carolina Zoo — we know they are going to have a fantastic time! Also, the moment we’ve been waiting for is almost here — our Sneaker Ball is happening this Saturday, May 3rd, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Edgecombe Community College! Please remember: Only Coker-Wimberly students may attend (no infants, middle schoolers, or high school students). All parents or caregivers must be 18 years or older. Dress to impress! Students should wear dressy or semi-formal attire — no t-shirts, shorts, jeans, or jogging suits. Dresses, skirts, and shorts must be at least mid-thigh length, and clothing must not expose the midriff or be overly tight. Parents are asked to wear business casual attire to help maintain the event’s stylish and school-appropriate atmosphere. Staff will be checking attire at the entrance to ensure all guests meet the dress code. Thank you for your cooperation in helping us create a safe, fun, and memorable evening for our Dolphins and their families! We can’t wait to welcome our Dolphins back to school tomorrow. We’re proud of the way they represented our school and explored opportunities for their futures. Wednesday: Character Day – Dress as your favorite book character. Thursday: Pajama Day – Get cozy and come ready to learn! 🚗 Morning Drop-Off Reminders: Please do not park in the car drop-off line. Use the designated parking lot if you need to enter the building. Use one lane only for morning drop-offs. This helps us keep everyone safe. Only Pre-K guardians are allowed down the hallways in the morning. All other visitors should stop at the front office window. This is for the safety of our scholars and is a state requirement. 💻 Technology Update Students will not be able to check out Chromebooks over the summer. All devices must be returned. Home Chromebook collection will begin after Spring Break—a schedule will be shared soon. 📅 Spring Break is coming up! There will be no school for students or staff from April 18 through April 25. 🎯 Remember, attendance matters! Please have students here every day, on time, and staying for the full instructional day. Good afternoon, Dolphin families! This is Principal Harley with your weekly update. We’ve had another great week of teaching and learning, and we are continuing to push forward with purpose and excitement! Families, we have just 26 instructional days left before our North Carolina End-of-Grade tests for our 3rd through 5th grade scholars. It is so important that our students are present, on time, and engaged every single day as we prepare for success. 📊 This week, students in grades 3–5 will begin their NC Check-Ins. Please ensure your scholar is well-rested and ready to do their best. 👟 Our Sneaker Ball fundraiser kicked off last week and is in full swing! The fundraiser ends on April 14th, so let’s work hard to make it a success. We can’t wait to see who will be crowned the next Mr. and Miss Coker-Wimberly! 📅 On April 8th from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, we will host Kindergarten Registration and Pre-K Applications right here on campus. If you have a rising Dolphin or know someone who does, please come out and get them registered! 🎨 Our district’s Art Explosion event will also take place this week, celebrating the creativity of our amazing students throughout the district. 🎓 On April 11th, our GEMS and ONYX groups will take a college tour to UNC Chapel Hill and NC Central University—what an exciting opportunity for our scholars! 🧪 On April 15th, we will have our PTO Meeting at 5:30 PM, followed by STEM Night at 6:00 PM. We hope to see you there for a night of learning and fun! 📚 On April 17th, join us for Literacy with a Loved One: Father Figure Edition at 7:30 AM.
