Please take the time to review them and reach out to your child’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns. 💰 Penny Wars Fundraiser: Our Penny Wars fundraiser for United Way is still happening! Please send in those pennies, as the winning class will receive a pizza or ice cream party. 🎩 Hat Day: Don’t forget, Hat Day is every Friday for just $1 as we raise money to support United Way. 🍬 Candy and Snack Sales: Candy sales will take place on Wednesdays and Fridays, so be sure to send money with your scholar if they’d like to participate as we raise funds for United Way. Honoring Our Veterans: We hope you had a chance to celebrate and thank our veterans today for their service and dedication. 1st Grade Field Trip: On Thursday, November 14, our 1st-grade scholars will be traveling to the Marbles Museum in Raleigh for a day of exploration and hands-on learning. Career Development Month Spirit Week: This week, in celebration of Career Development Month, we’re hosting a special Spirit Week to inspire students to think about their futures! Here’s what’s planned: Tuesday, Nov. 12 - College Day: Teachers will represent their Alma Mater or fraternity/sorority. Encourage your student to learn more about colleges and different educational paths! Wednesday, Nov. 13 - When I Grow Up Day: Students can dress up as their dream job. Let’s inspire them to imagine all the possibilities their future holds! Thursday, Nov. 14 - Step Into the Future: Students are encouraged to wear their craziest, coolest, or most colorful socks to symbolize stepping confidently toward the future. Friday, Nov. 15 - Your Future is Bright with CTE!: We’ll celebrate Career and Technical Education (CTE) by wearing bright or neon colors to highlight the bright futures of our students. Muffins with Mom: Join us next Tuesday, November 19, at 7:15 am for Muffins with Mom! We invite all moms and special guests to enjoy a light breakfast with us as we kick off the day together. Hello Stocks Families, This week, we’re excited to celebrate Red Ribbon Week, a nationwide campaign focused on promoting a drug-free lifestyle and making healthy choices. Red Ribbon Week is an important opportunity to talk with scholars about the impact of positive decisions on their futures and the value of staying drug-free. To kick off the week, we have “Put a Cap on Drugs” day on Monday, where scholars are invited to wear a hat to school. We understand it’s also Picture Day, so students are welcome to bring their hats and wear them after their photos are taken. Thank you for your support in making Red Ribbon Week meaningful for our scholars. Together, we’re empowering them to make smart choices and live healthy lives.

This includes parents, guardians, aunts, uncles—anyone authorized to pick up your child. Please ensure that the individual is listed in our database as an authorized person for pick-up to avoid any delays. Chorus will be held tomorrow, Monday, October 21st. Pick-up is at 4:15 PM. Our Fall Carnival is on Thursday, October 24th, from 5:30-8:00 PM. Come out and enjoy the fun! Parent-Teacher Conferences/Report Card Pick-Up will be held on Tuesday, October 29th, from 5:00-7:00 PM. More details will come home this week. The Candy Man fundraiser went home this past Friday. Please return all monies and orders by Monday, November 4th. Hat Day will be on Thursday October 24th this week (due to Friday October 25th, being a teacher workday—no school for students). Please bring $1 to support our school fundraiser. Our Fall Book Fair has started and is open daily from 8:00am - 4:00pm. We can’t wait for our scholars to dive into the wonderful world of books and start building their own home libraries! Today, Stocks Elementary School came together to celebrate Unity Day, proudly wearing orange as a symbol of kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. It was a powerful reminder of the importance of standing united against bullying and promoting a safe, supportive community for all our scholars. We are so proud of the love and joy shared today, and we wanted to share some of the moments with you! We want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who came out to Hispanic Heritage Night! It was such a joy to see our community come together to celebrate the rich culture, history, and contributions of our Hispanic families. Wednesday, October 16, 2024, we will be celebrating Unity Day, an important day dedicated to promoting kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. Unity Day is a time for us to come together as a school community to stand against bullying and show our commitment to creating a supportive and welcoming environment for all students. We are asking all students to wear orange on Unity Day as a symbol of solidarity and support for this important cause. Your encouragement in helping your child participate will make a big difference in spreading the message of unity. Thank you for helping us create a positive, inclusive school culture.
